Biography
Mr. House enlisted in the Navy in 1980, and attended Auburn University where he received his Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering in 1988. At S E A, Mr. House is a forensic electrical engineer withs experience in the investigation of electrical accidents and determining causation in liability, property, and personal injury claims specializing in electric shock and electrocution; lightning damage analysis and validity; illumination (lighting) studies; identifying product failures and deficiencies, including household appliances, commercial and industrial equipment, and vehicles and marine vessels; evaluating product adherence to mandatory standards and industry guidelines; proper handling of evidence and chain-of-custody preservation; field laboratory testing, including nondestructive techniques; and product reliability studies. He is also experienced in the evaluation of commercial and residential elevator electrical systems, control systems, and compliance with industry standards.
Mr. House entered the Naval Nuclear Submarine Program upon graduating from Auburn University. He served onboard the USS Woodrow Wilson where he was responsible for the safe operation and maintenance of the submarine, both at sea and in port as the Engineering Officer of the Watch, Officer of the Deck, and Ship’s Duty Officer. After Mr. House’s submarine tour, he attended the Naval Post-Graduate School where he earned a Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering. Following his postgraduate studies, he transferred to the U.S. Navy Civil Engineer Corps and retired from the Navy as a Lieutenant Commander in 2001.
As a registered professional engineer in thirteen states, Mr. House is also a member of the International Association of Arson Investigators (IAAI), the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE), the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), and the Illuminating Engineering Society of North America (IES). He is a Registered Professional Engineer in various states and has provided expert deposition and trial testimony with regard to electrical engineering.
