Captain Karentz is a graduate of Massachusetts Maritime Academy with a Bachelors Degree in Marine Transportation. He currently holds a US Coast Guard License as Master of Steam and Motor Vessels, any Gross Tons, Upon Any Oceans, with an Offshore Installation Manager endorsement. He is compliant with the 1995 Standards of Training, Certification, and Watchkeeping (STCW). Captain Karentz has extensive seagoing experience on many types of vessels, including oil tankers, freighters, dynamically-positioned vessels, oil field support craft, and semi-submersibles. He has owned and operated large commercial oceangoing tugboats and has accrued significant time coastwise and offshore on sailing yachts.
His past employment has included vessel management, vessel operations, and a wide-ranging history of refit and repair work on ships, large yachts, and specialty vessels. Captain Karentz is highly skilled in shipboard regulatory compliance issues, safety management, marine operations, and loss control. Christopher holds several ABYC training certifications. His previous experience utilized his varied skills and experiences in assisting Maritime Attorneys in the admiralty law/marine insurance arena.
