Mr. Golinkin earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Architectural Studies with university honors and college highest honors, as well as a Master of Architecture degree, both from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Prior to SEA, Ltd., he worked for over 15 years with full-service architectural and consulting firms designing building structural systems. Mr. Golinkin has been involved with all aspects of the design process, from conception through construction, for a wide variety of building types, including educational, health care, religious, municipal, corporate, and residential facilities. In addition to being licensed as both an engineer and an architect, Mr. Golinkin is a LEED Accredited Professional, has experience teaching at the collegiate level, and is a Certified Operator of the English XL Variable Incidence Tribometer, a device used to measure the slip resistance of walking surfaces.
Mr. Golinkin’s background enables him to conduct investigations for determining the cause and extent of damage to commercial and residential buildings, facilities, and structures. The major emphasis of his work includes analyzing and evaluating structural and architectural failures in steel, concrete, masonry, and timber products, as well as roofing and wall assembly systems and applications; conducting slip/trip-and-fall investigations for premises liability claims; and evaluating existing structures for compliance with design plans, specifications, and building codes. Mr. Golinkin is a member of several professional technical societies and has provided expert testimony with regard to structural engineering, architecture, and premises liability. Mr. Golinkin is licensed as a structural engineer, professional engineer, and/or architect in several states.
