Mr. Shepard has over 20 years of structural engineering design experience in the construction of commercial building projects, ranging from single story to high-rise structures. Chuck is responsible for providing examinations and evaluations of existing structures and building envelope systems to determine the presence, extent, and/or cause of damage to building components as a result of partial or full collapse, storm damage, water intrusion, fire, vibration, blasting, or other phenomena. Chuck provides investigation and consultation for a variety of projects, including, but not limited to, structure, roof, and building envelope/fenestration (windows, storefronts and/or curtain walls) failures, means of ingress/egress, code compliance, and potentially defective construction and/or design.
Chuck is a registered Professional Engineer in the State of Ohio since 2003 and holds licenses in multiple other states. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Akron. Chuck is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), the International Code Council (ICC), and the National Roofing Contractors Association (NRCA). He is a LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Accredited Professional, Certified Residential Building Inspector, Certified Commercial Building Inspector, and is listed with the National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying (NCEES).
Prior to joining S-E-A, Chuck supervised engineers in the design and construction of structures, including the development and review of structural design calculations and shop drawings.
