Douglas Rickel

Doug Rickel is the Manager of National Accounts and Practice Group Strategy, based out of the Tampa, FL, office. Doug first joined S-E-A in 2013 and now oversees strategic  initiatives relating to S-E-A’s Practice Groups including: Construction , Retail & Hospitality, Energy/Utility, Products, Property, Municipality and others. He is also very active in building client relationships on a national scale, specifically in the Products, Construction and Lloyd’s of London markets.

Prior to joining S-E-A, Doug had an 18-year career in the transportation, distribution, and logistics industry. Doug’s role included Director of Distribution for the largest durable medical equipment mobility manufacturing company in the US. In this role, he oversaw the movement of product from manufacturing plants in Asia and the US, through distribution centers to end retail clients. He also worked in the food distribution and Less-Than-Truckload (LTL) industries.  Doug earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Management from the University of Massachusetts at Dartmouth.

Doug’s professional affiliations include involvement with the Florida Defense Lawyers Association (FDLA), Federation of Defense, Corporate Counsel (FDCC), Construction Litigation Institute (CLI) , the International Association of Defense Counsel (IADC) and sits on the Tampa Chapter board of Claims Litigation Management (CLM).

Outside of work, Doug can often be found playing tennis, fishing or sailing in the Gulf of Mexico.
