Biography
Mr. Moya obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, with a minor in Electrical Engineering from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. He is a Mechanical Consultant based in S-E-A’s Dallas office, working in the Vehicle Accident Reconstruction (VAR) group. Mr. Moya’s performs examinations and investigations of vehicles and accident sites, pertaining to accidents involving passenger vehicles, commercial vehicles and heavy equipment, motorcycles, and pedestrians. His capabilities include 3D documentation with LiDAR scanners, photogrammetry, and video. He performs accident reconstruction simulations using HVE and Virtual Crash software and is trained in retrieval and analysis of vehicle Electronic Data Recorder (EDR) data of both passenger vehicles and heavy trucks.
Prior to joining S-E-A, Mr. Moya led the Formula SAE (Society of Automotive Engineers) chapter in Miami University. He oversaw the design process of an electric formula SAE vehicle including 3D CAD modeling, 3D assembly, and finite element analysis simulations. Mr. Moya played a role in materials related research projects, including 3D printed materials testing for energy absorption and Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM) testing of two-dimensional materials. He has experience in the use of 3D parametric modeling software and 3D printing.
Mr. Moya has certifications in the 3D visualization and modeling areas including Autodesk AutoCAD, Plant3D, and CloudCompare software. Mr. Moya is a FAA Part 107 licensed small, unmanned aircraft system pilot and is working towards obtaining SAE (Society of Automotive Engineers) vehicle accident reconstruction certifications.
