Biography
Mr. Banich earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering, with a primary focus on Structures and a secondary focus on Construction Engineering and Management from the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign. His responsibilities at S-E-A include conducting investigations to determine the cause and extent of damage to structures, analyzing and evaluating structural failures in various materials, including roofing and wall assembly systems, conducting slip/trip-and-fall investigations for premises liability claims, and evaluating existing structures for compliance with design plans, specifications, and building codes.
Mr. Banich has more than 15 years of experience in the civil/structural engineering field, including nuclear power, bridge inspection, and heavy industrial facilities. Prior to joining S-E-A, he worked as a Project Manager at a design firm, where he was responsible for managing multidiscipline design and construction projects for industrial facilities. Prior to that, Mr. Banich inspected bridges, culverts, sign structures, and walls along the Illinois Tollway and in the City of Chicago. Mr. Banich also worked as a design engineer for nuclear power facilities throughout the country.
Mr. Banich is a licensed Professional Engineering in Illinois. He is also a certified Illinois Department of Transportation Bridge Inspection Team Leader.
