Biography
Mr. Setters started at S-E-A as a mechanical consultant after earning his Bachelor of Science in Engineering Mechanics and Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. During his master’s research, Mr. Setters worked to develop a standard test method on a novel piece of equipment designed to measure bone properties in vivo. Prior to S-E-A, Mr. Setters worked at the Cooper Tire and Rubber Company for seven years, developing and validating new test methods and equipment to analyze the properties of the materials used in tires. In his last three years at Cooper Tire, Mr. Setters focused on measuring and analyzing the friction between tread compounds and various road surfaces to help improve tire performance. Since joining S-E-A, Mr. Setters has been tasked with investigating vehicle accident sites and the vehicles involved, performing vehicle accident reconstruction analyses, and executing accident reconstruction simulations using HVE. Mr. Setters also assists in researching advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS). Mr. Setters is a registered Professional Engineer in the state of Ohio and is a member of the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) and National Association of Professional Accident Reconstruction Specialists (NAPARS).
