Biography
Mr. Mills obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the West Virginia Institute of Technology, and his Master of Business Administration from the Marshall University Graduate College.
He investigates electrical systems and equipment, particularly those suspected of causing a fire, personal injury, electrocution/electrical shock, and equipment damage. He analyzes various types of power equipment (i.e., transformers, switchgear, circuit breakers, power cables, etc.) and appliances to determine the cause of an incident.
Prior to joining SEA, he had 7 years experience as a Senior Professional Engineer, specializing in the design and construction of transmission lines, power company distribution systems, and electrical substation facilities.
Mr. Mills is a licensed professional engineer (P.E.) in Illinois, Kentucky, North Carolina, Ohio, South Carolina, Wisconsin, West Virginia, Michigan, Indiana, California, and Colorado. He is also certified as a Fire and Explosion Investigator, as well as a Vehicle Fire Investigator, with the National Association of Fire Investigators (NAFI).
Mr. Mills is a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), the National Society of Professional Engineers (NSPE), the International Association of Arson Investigators (IAAI), and the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA).
