Biography
Mr. Mills obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the West Virginia Institute of Technology, and his Master of Business Administration from the Marshall University Graduate College. As a Sr. Electrical Engineer in our Fort Lauderdale office, he investigates structural and marine electrical systems and equipment, particularly those suspected of causing a fire, personal injury, lightning damage analysis and validity, electrocution/electrical shock, illumination (lighting studies) and equipment damage. He analyzes various types of power equipment (i.e., transformers, switchgear, circuit breakers, power cables, etc.) and appliances to determine the cause of an incident.
Mr. Mills is a licensed professional engineer in 20 states and is also licensed as a Certified Fire and Explosion Investigator, a Certified Vehicle Fire Investigator with the National Association of Fire Investigators (NAFI) and a Certified Marine Investigator with the International Association of Marne Investigators.
Mr. Mills is a member of the International Association of Arson Investigators (IAAI), National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), National Association of Fire Investigators (NAFI), Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), International Association of Marine Investigators (IAMI), American Boat and Yacht Council (ABYC) Member, Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), the National Society of Professional Engineers (NSPE), the International Association of Arson investigators (IAAI), and the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA).
His prior 7 years to S-E-A, he was a Senior Professional Engineer specializing in the design and construction of transmission lines, power company distribution systems, and electrical substation facilities.
