Chris Cowger

As a Digital Forensics Consultant based in S-E-A’s Kansas City office, Mr. Cowger’s responsibilities include developing and maintaining the digital forensics lab, expanding digital forensics capabilities, and maintaining software and equipment to aid in the forensic evaluation of digital evidence. Mr. Cowger utilizes both SOC (system on chip) and traditional forensic processes.

Mr. Cowger has experience as an incident response analyst for city, state, and federal customers. He has managed both physical and cloud-based digital forensics laboratories, developing procedures for evidence collection, processing, and secure storage. He has been responsible for the design, build-out, and maintenance of networking and communication infrastructure, which included the support of SCADA systems and the management of physical security measures such as video surveillance systems, alarm systems, and access controls. Mr. Cowger also has experience in the automatic vehicle location (AVL) telematics industry designing, developing, and deploying embedded software that collected data from vehicle data buses, discrete I/O interfaces, and driver interactions.

Mr. Cowger holds certifications in A+, CCNA, MCSE, CCSK+, and GNFA. He attends DEFCON, Blackhat, and ASIS (American Society for Industrial Security) conferences and has completed SANs trainings (FOR508, FOR572, and SEC599).
