Biography
As a Principal Fire Investigator for S-E-A, Mr. Silman is responsible for the determination of the origin and cause of various fires and explosions in commercial and residential structures, commercial and passenger vehicles, and agricultural and industrial equipment; performs background investigations and obtains recorded statements from claimants in reference to fire and explosion claims; collects and preserves evidence for laboratory analysis or investigation purposes; documents incident scenes with photographs, diagrams, written reports, and supporting documents. Additionally, Mr. Silman has provided expert deposition and trial testimony with regard to fire investigations at S-E-A.
Mr. Silman has led a notable career as a Sergeant Squad Leader for the Missouri Army National Guard for 9 years, and has led as a Fire Marshall, Inspector, and Investigator for more than 30 years with multiple fire departments/divisions. He holds seven certifications in fire, vehicle, and marine investigations which include:

- ย Certified Fire Investigator, Missouri Division of Fire Safety
- ย Certified Fire Inspector, Missouri Division of Fire Safety; Certified Firefighter I & II, Missouri Division of Fire Safety.
Mr. Silman is a registered Private Investigator in seven states with professional affiliations for National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) International Association of Arson Investigators (IAAI); International Association of Arson Investigators, Florida Chapter; National Association of Fire Investigators (NAFI); International Association of Fire Investigators (IAFI); International Association of Marine Investigators (IAMI). In addition to his extensive experience, he has attended more than 95 seminars and additional education conferences in the practice of fire and gas, hazardous materials, emergency response, vehicular, and marine studies/cases, and more.
