Biography
Mr. Burciaga obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, with a Minor in Mathematics from the University of Texas El Paso. While at the University of Texas El Paso, Mr. Burciaga was the electrical design team lead for Formula SAE EV. He was responsible for all calculations that led to the teamโs development of the Battery Cell Accumulator. He assisted the suspension design coordinators with chassis material selection and suspension setup.
As a Mechanical Consultant based in S-E-A’s Houston office, Mr. Burciaga performs vehicle accident investigation and reconstruction, including heavy trucks and machinery, passenger vehicles, and motorcycles. Responsibilities include electronic data acquisition and analysis, scene documentation and 3D data processing, vehicle inspection, as well as accident scene inspection. In addition, analyzes mechanical system accidents and failures, including heavy and off-road equipment.
Mr. Burciaga comes to S-E-A from the Automotive Industry, where he was a Mechanical Technician specializing in vehicle repair and drivetrain adaptability. As a Mechanical Technician, he designed new components that reinforced the existing powertrain mounting points across a multitude of vehicle chassis. He fabricated such components, with the purpose of being able to couple aftermarket performance engines with the original driveline equipment from the manufacturer. Mr. Burciaga diagnosed failures in powertrain components that led to repairs, replacements, or in the event of catastrophic failure, completely overhauling engines to achieve peak vehicle performance and safety.
