Eric Melosi

Mr. Melosi received his Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Southern Illinois University of Edwardsville. As a mechanical consultant in S-E-A’s St. Louis office, his responsibilities include investigating accidents and failures of mechanical products, systems, and components, including, but not limited to, robotics, electric motors and drives, plumbing, HVAC, manufacturing, and petrochemical matters.

Prior to joining S-E-A, Mr. Melosi worked as an assistant project manager in electric utility design and consulting, as an engineer building and
managing electric motor production, and as a design engineer and finite element analyst (FEA) working on petrochemical products. In project management, Mr. Melosi oversaw the planning, design, and execution of substation and transmission line projects. As an engineer working with electric motors and drives, Mr. Melosi led the projects from design, through prototype, and into production. While working as a design engineer, Mr. Melosi utilized computer-aided drafting (CAD) and FEA software to recreate real world scenarios in a virtual environment. The testing consisted of thermal, stress, and vibrational analyses to ensure safe operation of equipment, study failure points, and determine root cause analysis of failed equipment
