Biography
Mr. Martin earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of New Orleans. He began his engineering career in 2010 working in the forensic engineering field conducting inspections and analysis of various mechanical failures. During this time, he was able to gain knowledge and expertise in forensic engineering, from both field and lab work. As a forensic engineer, Mr. Martin’s projects included vehicle fires, vehicle accidents, and residential and commercial mechanical systems.
Mr. Martin also pursued a career as a professional NASCAR driver, which allowed him to work with several engineering groups from different teams. Throughout his tenure in NASCAR, Mr. Martin worked with many facets of the sport, including engineering and business, which broadened his knowledgebase to include engineering, business acumen, and project management. In his most recent role as a driver coach and data analyst,
Mr. Martin worked with a development driver and analyzed racecar telemetry data to help develop racecar setups tailored to the driver through on-track and simulator testing.
Since joining S-E-A, Mr. Martin has applied his automotive and mechanical systems experience toward forensic investigations of automotive and commercial vehicle accidents, mechanical systems failures, product analysis, and laboratory testing. In addition to his completion of Northwestern University’s Traffic Accident Reconstruction I and II courses, Mr. Martin has continued his education and training through successful completion of FARO Focus laser scanner certification, remote drone pilot certification, and has attended national seminars and training in vehicular Event Data Recorder application and advancement. Mr. Martin is a member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) and the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE).
