Biography
Dr. Huang earned his Ph.D. degree in Materials Science & Engineering from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, with a focus on Polymers & Fiber Composites mechanical properties, toughening theories, and failure behaviors. At S-E-A, Dr. Huang consults on projects focused on material-related questions, with an emphasis on polymer components and glass-fiber composites. His work supports litigation, insurance claims, and manufacturing clients through failure analysis, material selection, design evaluation, testing, and various other consulting requests.
Prior to S-E-A, Dr. Huang worked in the automotive and building products industry for more than twenty-five years. Responsibilities included new product development, manufacturing process troubleshooting, alternative materials surveys, as well as overseeing product quality issues and field complaints.
Dr. Huang is part of the Society of Plastic Engineers (SPE) along with the American Society of Materials (ASM). He holds over a half-dozen patents and has been published on topics that include polymers, magnesium alloys, corrosion, and weathering.
