Biography
Mr. Nevins received a Bachelor of Science degree in Applied Physics and Minor in Electrical Engineering from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas and an Associates of Science Degree in Applied Science Electronics from Maple Woods College. Prior to joining S-E-A, he spent over twenty-five years working in the technical consulting and forensic arena. Throughout his career, Mr. Nevins provided senior level consulting and expert services to the insurance, legal, and corporate communities in the areas of electrical equipment and system malfunctions, cause of failure analysis, complex large-loss investigations, electronic evidence analysis, and Digital Forensics.
As a Digital Forensics expert, Mr. Nevins has conducted electronic evidence collection and analysis from a diverse assortment of equipment and systems ranging from smartphones, mobile computing, networked data systems, cloud-based applications, digital video recording systems, vehicle-based data and telematics systems, embedded and industrial controls, and Internet of Things (IoT) devices. He utilizes his expertise to aid in the understanding and resolution of disputes centered in commercial business and employment, theft of confidential data and trade secrets, equipment malfunction and failures, fraud and arson investigations, and all forms of complex civil and criminal litigation matters. As a large-loss consulting expert, Mr. Nevins has provided analysis and opinions related to the damage of complex Information Technology infrastructure environments resulting from exposure to contaminants, adverse electrical events, and other perils.
Mr. Nevins is certified as an Encase Certified Examiner, a Certified Computer Examiner, an XRY Certified Mobile Device Examiner, and a registered Agency Investigator Employee through the Missouri Board of Private Investigator Examiners. He has been designated as an expert and/or offered testimony in matters related to Digital Forensics and technical disputes in both Federal and State courts.
