Biography
Mr. Schroeder received both his Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees in Civil Engineering, with a primary focus in structural, from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He is a registered Professional Engineer (P.E.) in multiple states, a Certified XL Tribometrist (CXLT), a licensed drone pilot (sUAS) with the FAA, and a certified JCC Residential/Commercial Building Inspector.  He is responsible for providing forensic engineering analysis of structures and their component systems, including concrete, steel, masonry, framing, truss systems, roofing, flooring, and fenestrations. His expertise encompasses the investigation of buildings and civil structures to determine damage or failures due to storms, wind, age, impacts, construction defects, foundation settlement, vibration and blasting, and water intrusion. He also conducts premises liability inspections including code/standards evaluation, slip/trip/fall analysis, and ADA compliance. Mr. Schroeder is experienced with building, bridge, and culvert inspections, retaining walls, construction-related issues such as QA/QC, structural design and specifications, and construction plans.
Prior to joining S-E-A, Mr. Schroeder was a consulting engineer in the transportation industry and was responsible for developing bridge design calculations, plans, and specifications, as well as construction inspection of bridges, evaluation of existing bridge structures, and supervision of junior engineers. Mr. Schroeder is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), the Structural Engineering Institute (SEI), the National Roofing Contractors Association (NRCA), and the American Society of Testing and Materials International (ASTM).
