Biography
Mr. Shannon earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering Mathematics from Elon University and his Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Washington University in St. Louis, where he is currently pursuing his Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering. At S-E-A, Mr. Shannon assists in accident reconstruction involving motor vehicles and mechanical failures. Additionally, Mr. Shannon assists in forensic investigations related to foreseen defects or failures in mechanical systems. He uses the Bosch Crash Data Retrieval (CDR) system for passenger vehicles and the Engine Control Module (ECM) software for commercial vehicles. He also operates 3D laser scanning equipment/ software and is a licensed Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV/Drone) Pilot.
Prior to joining S-E-A, Mr. Shannon accrued experience as a Civil Engineering Intern for the Rhode Island Department of Transportation in 2023, where he studied designs and plans for construction of the Henderson Bridge and ensured progress was followed on-site. He participated in the Formula SAE Racing Team at Washington University as a member of the ergonomics system working to enhance human performance and vehicle optimization. His focus was on advancing functionality of the brake pedal box, steering wheel/assist, brake bias adjuster and seat/firewall.
Mr. Shannon is a member of the Formula Society of Automotive Engineers (FSAE) and the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME).
