STEP Platform
STEP (S-E-A Test Emulator for Pedestrians) is a low-profile and overrunable robotic platform designed for carrying Vulnerable Road User (VRU) soft target mannequins for ADAS development and evaluation. STEP is a simplified version of the STRIDE robotic platform and it can be used for straight line pedestrian maneuvers.
With a simple, box-based user interface, test cases can quickly and reliably be cycled through. The user has the ability to select one of three different pedestrian test speeds, a straight-line distance for the platform to travel, and the triggering event. This simplified, GPS-free setup means that anyone can pick up the platform and begin testing with very little training.
The STEP is currently under final development and will be available beginning in January of 2025.Patent Pending.
