Row & Ski Machine
Test Rig
Built to compare rowing machine performance and improve quality control, this versatile rig also supports ski machines. It precisely controls force, power, and stroke rate while using sensors and off-the-shelf components to manage motion, collect data, and automate analysis.
Vehicle Inertia Measurement Facility
An early large-scale S-E-A project, the VIMF was developed for Ford to measure vehicle center of gravity and moments of inertia. It highlights S-E-A’s heavy-duty design capabilities. With 10 systems worldwide, it’s the industry standard used by OEMs and the U.S. government for NHTSA 5-Star Rollover Ratings.
Portable Impactor
Our portable impactor enables controlled impacts at various heights and trajectories, with customizable impact heads to simulate real-world scenarios. Its tension-loaded system delivers consistent velocities, supporting repeatable testing and biomechanical data collection for safety research and product validation.
Dynamometers
This multi-disciplinary design integrates mechanical systems, electrical components, and custom software to test a wide range of micromobility vehicles. S-E-A engineers developed the mechanical architecture and software in-house while incorporating commercial electronics to measure key parameters such as current, voltage, temperature, speed, and acceleration.
Adjustable Stairs
Our adjustable stair system supports biomechanical research with customizable step heights and depths, and steps designed to integrate force plates or other instrumentation. Built on a modular 80/20 frame, it can be configured manually or expanded with motors and sensors for tailored research needs.
Software Development
We design custom software for complex research, testing, and product development environments. Our experience spans real‑-time control, multi‑-sensors data acquisition, analysis tools, and cross‑ platform application development. Projects range from rapid 0‑ ‑to1 prototypes to complete ‑production ready‑ systems.
Trifilar Pendulum System
Engineered to measure rotational inertia for items weighing as little as 5 pounds, this system combines custom machining, 3D-printed components, and integrated commercial hardware. The final design delivers the accuracy and repeatability required to meet stringent client specifications.
3D Printed Components
We offer in-house 3D printing to rapidly design and produce functional parts for research and product development, enabling fast prototyping, efficient design refinement, and high-quality, project-specific components.
