Biography
Dr. Eichaker’s doctoral research focus involved using biomechanics and epidemiology techniques to analyze patterns of injury mechanisms and outcomes from car crash databases and trauma registries (e.g. Crash Injury Research Engineering Network (CIREN)). The goal of her dissertation research was to find ways to mitigate injuries by altering impact scenarios.
The alterations may be carried out by semi-autonomous vehicle behaviors, or altered occupant seating patterns. Dr. Eichaker has experience assisting in setting up sled tests involving child restraint systems (CRS), as well as community outreach and education events about CRS safety. She completed her Ph.D. in the summer of 2017. Her mentor was John Bolte IV, PhD.
