Mr. Nieto earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Occupational Safety and Health from Columbia Southern University. He also holds a Bachelor of Science in Occupational Technology from Wayland Baptist University. At S-E-A, he is responsible for the investigation and management of projects involving safety issues in commercial/industrial and residential construction environments. Mr. Nieto also evaluates projects involving incidents in regard to the anticipation, recognition, evaluation, and control of factors that may have caused or contributed to the incident.
Prior to joining S-E-A, Mr. Nieto worked as a Project Safety Manager for Gray Construction of Lexington, Kentucky, a large commercial and industrial design/build contractor. Preceding Gray Construction, he served as Director of Safety for National Boiler Service, a fast-paced and dynamic boiler repair and maintenance firm in Trenton, Georgia. His leadership and training acumen is responsible for 4 of his 13 safety technicians earning board certifications as Construction Health and Safety Technicians (CHST).
Prior to National Boiler Service, Mr. Nieto consulted for CORE Safety Group of Chattanooga, Tennessee. There he managed site safety programs for client contractors having up to 85 personnel. Projects supervised included Volkswagen’s new assembly facility, Alstom Turbomachines, Whitfield County Georgia High School, and the American Snuff Company.
He has extensive experience in all major facets of construction, including, but not limited to, fall protection, crane operations, rigging, scaffolding, excavations, lock-out/tag-out, and electrical. He is a professional member and former Local Chapter Vice President of the American Society of Safety Engineers (ASSE). Additionally, Mr. Nieto is a Certified Safety Professional (CSP), a Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST), and is an authorized OSHA Outreach Instructor for 10 Hour and 30 Hour Card (Construction) courses.
